Cleardata NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Compliance
Cleardata has completed a successful Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Submission via NHS Digital. The DSPT is an online self-assessment tool for organisations with access to NHS patient data. Organisations have to assess themselves against the National Data Guardian’s ten data security standards to measure performance and demonstrate good practice around data security and correct handling of personal information. The Data Security and Protection Toolkit replaces the previous IG Toolkit.
As a document management company providing services to the NHS the Data Security and Protection Toolkit is a key requirement. Cleardata provides secure archive storage, with scan on demand digital retrieval for patient records and NHS documentation, as well as bulk document scanning services to digitise medical documentation, as well as other departments such as HR, Facilities or Finance.
With the NHS working towards going paperless by 2020, secure archive storage and document scanning services are in demand. Cleardata’s storage services allow organisations to store records off-site and retrieve as and when required using scan on demand. This allows records to be located, retrieved, scanned and digitally returned within hours, allowing digitise records to be uploaded directly into the NHS organisations electronic patient records system. A full audit trail is also provided using Cleardata’s online archive management system.
Cleardata’s scanning team, digitise around 4 million images per month. Patient records can be indexed with any required metadata to enable information to be found easily and ensure compliance for GDPR. Read some of our NHS and Healthcare case studies here.
Matthew Hart, Compliance Manager commented “Cleardata continuously works hard to maintain its standards for Information Security. The DSPT submission involved providing evidence of many existing data security and personal information handling processes and policies and also ensuring reporting procedures were in place to meet additional key requirements. This DSPT toolkit submission complements our existing BSI accreditation for ISO27001, providing assurance to NHS clients. ”
