Our professional large format scanning bureau is equipped with Contex IQ Quattro scanners which can capture drawings, maps or plans to a high degree of accuracy. Common sizes are A0, A1 or A2. Scanners can handle vellum, paper, acetate, transparency, wallpaper, fabric and other types of material. 

Digitised documents can be output to any required format in colour or mono.  Our scanners pick up fine details to an exceptional level of quality, with speeds of up to 17.8 inches per second.  The IQ Quattro scanners provide optical image quality, with LED Lighting on both sides, eliminating areas which may be creased.

Large format scanning services from Cleardata allow for a wealth of documents and paperwork to be prepared, scanned, quality-checked and copied into a variety of formats for your convenience. Using state-of-the-art large format scanning technology, we can scan A0, A1 and A2 documents, such as maps, engineering drawings, plans and blueprints.


Our Large Format Scanning Process

Cleardata provides large format and drawing scanning for businesses of all sizes, combining expert handling with advanced technology to deliver accurate digital or physical copies of oversized documents. Our IQ Quattro 4490 technology has a maximum scan width of 44 inches (1118mm), enabling us to capture wide format plans or drawings. 


Our friendly team can collect your large format documents or drawings from anywhere in the UK. The vans are owned by Cleardata and tracked to ensure a secure audit trail.
Usually drawings and large format documents are provided in tubes. We can provide cardboard tubes if needed. Our team can also collect drawings within large format cabinets
The team will ensure drawings are unrolled ready for scanning. Any clips or staples will be removed. We will also flag any low quality originals, using our quality assurance header sheet. Barcodes can also be applied to enable fast drawing identification.
Our team can index your drawings using any required data. For example, drawing number, date, location.
We have invested in a fleet of Contex IQ Quattro scanners for digitisation of large format records. These are roller fed and can scan in colour, mono or greyscale. Cleardata also has a specialist overhead scanning area for documents requiring flatbed digitisation.
Drawings can be output to JPEG, TIFF or PDF, providing a high level of resolution. Cleardata returns data by Secure SFTP and also offers a cloud based document management system, to enable fast flexible access to your Drawings.

Yes. Documents can be scanned in colour, greyscale or mono and formatted to a high-quality digital output.
Only authorised users can request file retrievals. We would add your users to our Cleardox AMS system at the outset of the project.
Your archive boxes will be checked in with bar code labels. This helps us to locate your archives whilst at our premises.
Our standard process to return digital documents for our mailroom service is via our Cloud Electronic Document Management System. Documents can also be returned via secure file transfer for upload into your own systems.
This would be agreed as part of the specification process. Our standard process is to return by SFTP (secure file transfer protocol). We also offer a cloud electronic document management system, Cleardox EDM. This provides secure, flexible access to your records from any location.
Cleardata can output your digital files in any required format. The company has a specialist IT team that can meet your needs to ensure your images are compatible with existing office systems. Common formats to export scanned images to are PDF, TIFF, JPEG, CAD, BMP, PNG, TXT and Microsoft Format, e.g. Word or Excel.
